Recognition
The acknowledgment of achievement, service, merit.
Our aim is to recognise and acknowledge attempts of good will and good deeds by everyone who wants to do something positive to demonstrate that young people are good in nature, kind in spirit and worthy of our respect.
We all seek recognition throughout our lives, from the cradle we seek attention and love, during our formative teenage years we seek guidance and motivation, at the workplace we seek recognition for our efforts no matter how trivial it may be. But do we all give that recognition when it is really needed?
It’s not all about money it’s about recognition for the little things we all do that really makes a difference to our perception of what is right and what is wrong. We can all make a difference if we really want to.
We ask you to Make a Difference and to contribute your ideas as well as your words of support; we also seek your actions of small deeds that have made a difference to other peoples lives. We ask everyone to stop demonising young people as thugs and as vandals as usually portrayed in the media and instead we ask you to see the good deeds that the vast majority of our young people do every day and to focus on the positive aspects instead of dwelling on the misguided ill mannered few.
Despite the minority of miss guided young people the vast majority are law abiding young citizens who should be recognised for their good nature. We must bring out the best in all people and draw on our resourcefulness to show the minority of miss guided young people the better way to behave and not continually brand young people as the ‘bad guys’.
We aim to hold meetings and events around the South of England and ask all associations and clubs to help support this cause by holding Make a Difference meetings in your city, town or village and we will freely publish your results, photographs of your events and activities.
We ask for your support in our mission to promote and recognise the good deeds by our young people and to prove we are changing the attitudes of fear and poor communication between our youth and adults in every community around the country.
Please tell us about your ideas to make a difference and how we can change attitudes and let us start to all Make a Difference no matter how small so that we can praise our young people instead of castigate them.
