About Us
Make a Difference is made up of Julie May (my wife), Michael (my 15 year old son) and myself, Kevin May. We are proud to work as a family, as we believe that a strong family bond is the corner stone of a healthy community spirit and a foundation stone upon which a healthy community spirit is borne.
Why create a website and campaign for a better life for all members of our community, including our own family? The tragic murder of Rob Knox (my nephew) in Sidcup in May of 2008 brought home this terrible state of affairs to our own home and family and, instead of reading about another knife crime on TV, we found ourselves family victims.
Are we part of the problem or could we be perhaps part of the solution? We just can’t keep quiet any longer and we felt as a family the need to speak out and actually do something.
At first we thought this was a daunting task, as we are sure it seems to those who are striving and wishing for a better life, but we have found that if you seek help it is there, as people are intrinsically good. We have had great support from many organisations and local businesses.
We only ask you for your thoughts, suggestions and your help in making a difference to the lives of every citizen, no matter what age, creed, colour or denomination. Help us make a difference, no matter how small. We can all truly make a difference if we do one thing, as doing nothing is not an option anymore.
